Tyukavina global total and annual fire loss from 2001-2024 at 300 m resolution

Tyukavina_fire_non_fire_loss_300m_2001_2024 represents the global total fire and non-fire "forest-loss" observed from 2001 to 2024 at 300 m resolution. This layer was originally downloaded from Tyukavina et al., (2022) and re-projected from 30 m to 300 m resolution using aggregate() function from the package “terra” (Hijmans et al.,, 2025), taking the modal fire presence and absence values within each 300 m cell. Within this layer there are numeric values, 0 denotes regions with no fire or non-fire loss, 1 denotes areas that experienced non-fire forest loss, 2 denotes cells low-certainty fire loss, 3 denotes medium-certainty fire loss, 4 denotes high-certainty fire loss, and 5 represents medium certainty fire loss exclusively in Africa. We combined medium and high-certainty fire loss values to determine the total medium certainty fire loss values associated with individual taxa.Tyukavina_global_fire_annual_300m represents the global annual fire-asscoiated "forest-loss" observed from 2001 to 2024 at 300 m resolution. This layer was originally downloaded from Tyukavina et al., (2022) and re-projected from 30 m to 300 m resolution using aggregate() function from the package “terra” (Hijmans et al.,, 2025), taking the modal fire year within each 300 m cell.
