Chinese Peacebuilding in Tunisia

The data consists mainly of public statements by Chinese state officials in the context of Chinese foreign policy in Tunisia after the Arab Spring. Statements by US officials are sometimes provided for comparison purposes. The data is organized according to the five components of "peacebuilding with Chinese characteristics", per Adhikari (2021): focus on stability, prioritisation of development, conditional adherence to state-centricity, prioritization of regional actors in the making of peace, and an aversion to templates and policies for engaging in peace processes. Each folder contains data used to illustrate and analyse each of those components. Version 2 of this dataset correct the a minor error in the statecentrism component, in which an additional, unused file was mistakenly included.
