资源简介:
Aliphatic polyesters and aromatic aliphatic polyesters are biodegradable polymers and have attracted attention as one of the promising solutions to plastic waste problems, particularly in marine environments. On the other hand, such biodegradable polymers exhibit only low biodegradability in marine environments, and the reasons for this remain unknown. Therefore, to elucidate the marine biodegradation mechanism of the polymers, we isolated polymer-degrading bacteria from seawater collected off the coast of Yokosuka City, Japan. Genomic analysis using next-generation sequencing (NGS) revealed that the isolate belonged to the phylum Marine Proteobacteria, which have some polyesterases.
