Understanding Psychological Safety Challenges and Strategies in Software Development-DATASET

This replication package supports a qualitative study exploring psychological safety in software engineering, based on both grey literature sources and interview data with software practitioners. The grey literature data were collected from two Stack Exchange communities, Software Engineering Stack Exchange (SESWE) and Project Management Stack Exchange (SEPM), which capture practitioners’ perspectives on real-world software development experiences. The interview data provide complementary, experience-based insights into interpersonal dynamics across different development settings.

This repository includes:

Raw datasets retrieved from SESWE and SEPM via automated queries (QueryResultsSESWE and QueryResultsSEPM).

A structured data extraction and coding spreadsheet with qualitative annotations for both sources (PS_Study_Dataset).

The complete codebook used in the analysis, including category definitions and illustrative examples (Codebook_PS).
