This study examines irradiation-assisted hydrogen embrittlement (HE) in Ni and Ni-Cr crystals using Bragg Ptychography (BP) at ESRF’s ID01 beamline. HE threatens reactor components and pipelines, but irradiation-induced defects may trap hydrogen, reducing embrittlement. The study tracks radiation- and hydrogen-induced strain in 500 nm Ni/Ni-Cr samples, with Ni ion irradiation simulating neutron damage. Electrochemical hydrogen charging is performed in a 3D-printed flow cell. Findings will help design hydrogen-resistant alloys for industrial use.
