16S rDNA Illumina analysis of mouse faeces using magnetic-bead based extraction. mouse gut metagenome

Many microbiome studies of the gastrointestinal tract currently use manual kit-based DNA extraction methods, yet new methods that allow high throughput sample processing are in demand. We tested and evaluated three magnetic bead-based DNA extraction methods, which can be automated in a work station (Promega Maxwell??). Mouse faecal materials from three different conditions were sampled for the evaluations, and our data showed that the new methods can provide good quantity and equal quality of extracted DNAs compared with the widely used standard method (MoBio PowerSoil?? DNA Isolation Kit).
