Mechanisms of oncogenesis and immune escape in functional tumour models. Colon and endometrial cancer are some of the most common malignancies in the developed world. By developing preclinical models of these cancer types, we have shown that different types and combinations of gene defects ('driver mutations') cause tumours which vary in type, frequency and immune infiltrate. We would now like to understand the mechanisms which underpin these differences in order that we can identify potential targets for therapeutic manipulation at the DNA, RNA and protein level. To do this we will perform DNA and RNA sequencing of tumours from our preclinical models and combine this with the other analyses we have performed on these samples.
