CuIr₂S₄ exhibits a metal-insulator transition at ~230 K driven by charge ordering and Ir dimerization. The goal is to probe its electronic structure and low-energy excitations using resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS) in both the metallic and insulating phase, aiming to identify signatures of charge disproportionation and possible magnetic excitations, and to clarify the interplay between electronic correlations and the transition.
