Replication Data for: Modeling Media Influence on the Formation of Misinformed Attitudes -- Chapter 5: Validating the Cognitive Cascade model using empirical media and polling data

This data is the result of simulations using the Cognitive Cascade model with data from the Face Mask Perception Scale Attitudes in U.S. Covid-19 News dataset. The procedure is described in Rabb 2024 (PhD Thesis), "Modeling Media Influence on Misinformed Attitudes," Chapter 5, titled "Validating the Cognitive Cascade model using empirical media and polling data." There are two types of files in this replication dataset: 1. Opinion simulation data from all simulation runs, for each agent group 2. NetLogo world data from the three case studies examined in the chapter: for simple, complex, and cognitive cascades (one file for each of the 30 simulation runs and its ending world state). This was used to support the analysis examining exposure and belief of messages.
