RNAseq of lettuce in modified atmophere packaging

Lettuce leaves from different varieties display distinct deterioration rates under modified packaging. RNAseq technology is used to compare the global transcription of cut lettuce with rapid and slow deterioration rates. The goal is to identify the genes and pathways involved in the determination of deterioration rate. Resulted information is expected to facilitate the development of strategies to improve lettuce shelf-life and the breeding of shelf-life enhanced varieties.
