VPRS 1598 Suitors Fund Mortgage Book

This series contains records of mortgages of property which was within the trusteeship of the Court whist a suit was in progress and before the matter had been determined by the Court. Details are given of the mortgagor, the mortgagee (often the Master in Equity or Trustees), a description of the property being mortgaged, the amount of the loan and the rate of interest being charged, the dates of the mortgage, of any alterations in the interest rate and when interest was payable on the loan. In a remarks column the eventual disposition of the mortgage was recorded.
