VPRS 17326 Investment Records (Judgement Monies), Final Orders

The records are the orders made by a County Court Judge requiring the investment of money on behalf of a minor or a person under disability.This money may be compensation from an accident or injury, from a will or for people under the age of 18 who have lost a parent or have been victims of crime.The Investment Records (Judgement Monies) Final Orders specifies the details of money awarded in a matter concerning injury of a child under the age of 18. The Investment Records detail the Court ordered payment by the relevant insurance company or person(s) at fault. This money is then invested on the child's behalf until the child is 18 years old, whereupon they may make an application for this money.Funds are paid into Court by a court order because a person is under a 'legal disability'. This might be because they:- have had an accident, injury or illness- have an intellectual or physical disability (or both)- are under 18Upon receipt of funds, a Trust Officer is allocated responsibilty for the day-to-day management of the funds.
