In light of large fertiliser inputs in agriculture, understaning the response to such inputs in microbial communities is of great importance. We sequenced bacterial 16S and fungal ITS amplicons to profile microbial communities in the endosphere, rhizosphere and bulk soil of Arabidopsis and wheat plants grown in field sites in controlled greenhouse conditions. These were either treated with fertiliser or not.
