Antenatal care provided by a nurse or midwife

This indicator reflects the percentage of women who had a live birth (or stillbirth) in the two to five years preceding the survey and reported receiving antenatal care from a nurse or midwife during their most recent pregnancy. It highlights the role of midwives and nurses in providing antenatal services and helps assess access to skilled care providers during pregnancy across different countries and settings. Data are sourced from StatCompiler, based on harmonised Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) data. This is one of many datasets featured on the Midwives’ Data Hub, a digital platform designed to strengthen midwifery and advocate for better maternal and newborn health services.
