Exome sequencing of primary uveal melanomas. Homo sapiens

Uveal melanoma is the most common primary malignancy of the eye. By studying the somatic, exomic mutations acquired in primary and metastatic uveal melanomas we hope to identify key oncogenic transition mutations, and mutations that distinguish tumor grades and predict metastatic potential. Such findings may provide key insight into rational therapy for individual tumors.
