Vietnam is identified as one of 30 high burden countries for TB and MDR-TB, with an incidence of 137 TB cases per 100,000 individuals in 2015. To characterize the diversity of Mtb circulating in HCMC, we sequenced the genomes of 1,635 isolates obtained from HIV uninfected, smear positive adults (=18 years) commencing anti-TB therapy at district TB units in eight districts of HCMC between December 2008 and July 2011.
