World Political Boundaries - Detailed

This dataset contains the World Political boundaries valid for 2014. The data is available as shapefile format. The data is more detailed than the other boundary dataset (World Political Boundaries - Coarse) held on ShareGeo (http://hdl.handle.net/10672/22). This dataset replaces data supplied by Geodan which represented World Political boundaries in 2011. This data is based on the GADM Version 2 data which is available at http://www.gadm.org/ The data has been simplified by dissolving countries internal boundaries to leave just international boundaries. This was achieved in ArcGIS. GIS vector data. This dataset was first accessioned in the EDINA ShareGeo Open repository on 2014-07-01 and migrated to Edinburgh DataShare on 2017-02-22.
