Water quality data for Winnapaug Pond, RI (USA) from 2024 to 2025

This dataset includes results from a field monitoring program that was conducted in Winnapaug Pond, RI, from 2024 to 2025. Discrete surface water samples were collected at five stations within Winnapaug Pond to monitor water quality while a calcitic limestone (CaCO3) application was performed nearby as part of an existing routine golf course lawn care. Samples were analyzed for chlorophyll a, particulate carbon, particulate nitrogen, and stable isotopes of particulate carbon and nitrogen in order to provide a time series of phytoplankton community characteristics before and after the liming. These water quality data are being made available to better understand the impacts of coastal terrestrial liming on marine ecosystems. A description of the sample collection methods and data analyses are included as a companion file to the dataset.
