Variability Census of Legacy Catalogs: New Pulsating Variables and Eclipsing Binaries

I am conducting a variability vetting census of the four legacy catalogs: BD, HD, SAO, and PPM, which has yielded an impressive number of new variables. This systematic screening of cataloged stars is part of a special survey project that aims to identify bright A-F variable stars based on publicly accessible high-precision space photometry from TESS and Gaia. I present a simplified report of the current results from the second phase of my study, which scanned 162,660 objects in the legacy catalogs. So far, I have identified over 5000 new $\delta$ Scuti stars, more than 3500 new $\gamma$ Doradus stars, about 1200 new Maia variables, over 420 new eclipsing binary systems with several dozens having pulsating components, nearly 5500 rotational variables, and a few others. The comprehensive catalog of newly identified variable stars as the results of Phases I and II of the project is provided separately in machine-readable format in the attached file `PPM_AFstars_NewVar_R2.csv', and an atlas of selected exemplary light curves is given in the PDF file.
