Determination of the effects of endurance exercise training on the human skeletal muscle miRNAome by miRNA sequencing

Short RNA sequncing was performed to determine the effects of endurance exercise training on miRNA expression in human skeletal muscle. Overall design: Human skeletal muscle biopsies from male volunteers were collected prior to and after a 14 consecutive day exercise training program consisting of 1 hour/day endurance exercise. Exercise was performed at ~80% peak oxygen uptake during each session (for more details see PMID: 21360670). The biopsies collected after completion of the exercise training program were collected 16 hours after the 14th training session. In total 6 biopsies were sequenced representing biopsies collected before or after the exercise program from three human volunteers.
