Datasets-for-the-SMoC-paper

Datasets for a journal paper "Spatial mode-based calibration (SMoC) of forecast precipitation fields from numerical weather prediction (NWP) models". In the SMoC paper, the performance of SMoC is evaluated by applying it to NWP forecasts of substantive precipitation events over the Brisbane Drainage Basin in eastern Australia. This repository provides datasets of precipitation forecasts (ACCESS-G3, 3 years) and observations (AWAP, 33 years) at a grid spacing of 0.05° x 0.05° and on a daily basis for this case study: (1) NWP forecasts: "ACCESS-G3_3-year_forecasts.nc"; (2) Corresponding observations: "AWAP_3-year_observations.nc"; (3) Long-term observations: "AWAP_30-year_observations.nc". Considering that these three files are too large to be uploaded directly, they are compressed into "ACCESS-G3 and AWAP datasets.zip". Author name: Pengcheng Zhao.
