Microbial community in Fungal necromass

We examined the microbial communities colonising fungal necromass during a multi-year decomposition experiment in boreal forest soils. This experiment included incubation bags of different mesh sizes to manipulate both plant root and microbial decomposer group access. We used high-throughput sequencing (Miseq) to identify the bacterial and fungal communities associated with fungal necromass decomposition after 6, 18, and 30 months of soil incubation.
