Global MHD simulation of the interaction of a solar wind discontinuity with Earth's magnetopause on April 10, 2005

Magnetic field (nT) and plasma beta datasets from a global MHD simulation of the interaction of a solar wind discontinuity with Earth's magnetopause on April 10, 2005.  

The data are in MHD coordinates such as  i = -XGSE  j = -YGSE  k = ZGSE and are written in ASCII vtk format ready to be displayed with ParaView (www.paraview.org). Only a small volume of the simulation is provided (-20.0  5.0, -10 10, -10 10 RE).

Each file contains one time step. The file name indicates the time step in seconds after the base time of the simulation:  2015:04:10:03:45: 0.000 (e.g. 00910 for lws003s.00910_BETA.vtk).
