资源简介:
Microbially-induced corrosion occurs when bacteria oxidize solid elemental metals into soluble ions, and is an important factor in determining the environmental fate of critical metals. This study focuses on cobalt, an essential component of consumer electronics that is a priority for reclamation from electronic waste. We demonstrate that Pseudomonas chlororaphis subspecies aureofaciens is capable of corroding elemental cobalt, and investigate the role of bacterial-produced phenazines and hydrogen cyanide in the corrosion process.
