Middle Swan River Catchment Restoration and Rehabilitation Program

The Swan Canning Riverpark is an iconic part of Perth life. It is a popular site for recreational activities and is home to many local and migratory animals. Some of these species such as the Carnabys Black Cockatoo, the Fairy Tern and the Chuditch are either vulnerable or endangered and need to be protected. This project will focus on the rehabilitation of remnant bushland and wetland reserves within the Swan and Canning River catchments in areas such as the three A-Class reserves on the Swan River. This work will increase water quality and biodiversity and will add to the habitat value of areas frequented by trans-equatorial birds and other threatened species protected under the EPBC act.
