The respiratory tract microbiome in Legionella-associated pneumonia

The respiratory tract microbiome (RTM) has not been deeply explored and even less in relationship with pneumonia, a leading cause of mortality worldwide and a public health concern. Here we followed the RTM of a unique cohort of hospitalized individuals with infections caused by Legionella pneumophila. Characterization and quantification of the inter-kingdom RTM were performed by marker gene high-throughput sequencing coupled with spike-in quantification.
