2017 Irrigated Lands for the Malad Valley: Hand-Digitized Generated

This layer depicts polygons representing land within the Malad Valley classified as either "irrigated", "non-irrigated" or "semi-irrigated", where the semi-irrigated classification typically depicts residential land or areas where irrigated and non-irrigated areas co-mingle. The original line work used to create this dataset is the vector geometry used for the 2019 Bear River Compact Depletion study. Field boundaries are refined using primarily 2017 National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP) imagery, but Digital Ortho Photo Quadrangle (DOQQ) imagery, or other high resolution imagery are used as needed. Attribute assignments for irrigation status (irrigated, non-irrigated, and semi-irrigated) are determined using available 2017 Sentinel imagery as background reference as well as 2017 NAIP imagery.
