this article represents the first exploration of Earth's ecosystem response to stratospheric environmental stressors from the community metabolism perspective, highlighting the distinctive metabolic characteristics of highly oxidizing environments on our planet. Additionally, it unveils significant divergence among cyanobacteria belong to same oxygenic photosynthetic organisms when exposed to high light-induced oxidative stress, particularly between scytonema and other highly abundant genus. Notably, this research also uncovers the remarkable potential of scytonema in colonizing extraterrestrial habitats owing to its robust resistance, diverse energy production mechanisms, and resource acquisition strategies.
