This study aimed to understand the role of the SHH receptor Ptch1 in the development of cortical astrocytes in the mouse. Ptch1 was knocked out in astrocytes by using an Glast-Cre driver line in combination with a line carrying floxed Ptch1 alleles and with a Cre-dependent tdTomato reporter line (Ai14). TdTomato+ astrocytes were sorted out from the somatosensory cortex followed by bulk RNA-seq. The sequencing data compares the gene expression profiles of ptch1cKO vs WT at postnatal developmental age (P23-P25). Overall design: tdTomato astrocytes of 4 each were compared between control (labeled as "WT", containing GlastCre and Ai14 alletes) and mutant (labeled as "Ptch1cKO", homozygous for the floxed version of the Ptch1 allele) samples.
