This dataset contains the ShakeMap and PAGER results and data processing scripts generated for and described in the manuscript submitted to SRL named "Earthquake Scenarios for California Via 3D Physics-based Ground Motion Simulations": 1/ The ShakeMap gridded output files for all scenarios mentioned in the manuscript are saved in "ShakeMap-gridded-files" with 2 subfolders: 1.1/ The subfolder "individual-gridded" contains results for individual source realizations, with ten for each fault scenario. There are eight scenarios coded in the file names as: Filename Scenario grid-N1Hx??z??_* Mw7.7 Northern San Andreas grid-N2Hx??z??_* Mw7.1 Hayward grid-N4Hx??z??_* Mw7.1 Calaveras grid-N5Hx??z??_* Mw7.0 Concord grid-S4Hx??z??_* Mw7.2 Newport-Inglewood grid-S5Hx??z??_* Mw7.2 Sierra Madre grid-S6Hx??z??_* Mw7.2 Puente Hills grid-S7Hx??z??_* Mw7.2 Palos Verdes Further, the 2-digit number following Hx indicates the percentile location of the hypocenter along strike, while that following z indicates its percentile location down dip. For example, “Hx35z50” denotes a source realization with its hypocenter located at 35% of the distance along strike and 50% of the distance from the top of the fault plane down dip. The files ending with "GMMSQ" utlize only the NGA-West2 ground motion models, while those ending with "SIMSQ" are generated by 3D physics-based simulations as mentioned in the manuscript. 1.2/ The subfolder “mean-standard-deviation-gridded” contains similar results for all eight scenarios, with three files for each scenario representing the mean ("S10mean"), minus one standard deviation ("S10m1sd"), and plus one standard deviation ("S10p1sd") of the results from the 10 simulation-based realizations in the previous subfolder “individual-gridded”. 2/ The folder "PAGER-pdf-results" contains the PAGER outputs from the gridded ShakeMap outputs, each corresponding to a single file in the folder "ShakeMap-gridded-files", for both the individual source realizations and the mean / plus-minus standard deviation results throughout the eight scenarios. 3/ Apart from those results, the python scripts used to process the outputs from 3D simulations, generate the input files for ShakeMap, and plot comparison figures based on the outputs are located in the folder "data-processing-scripts", with package requirements explicitly written within each script.
