Canadian Gallup Poll, June 1974, #366

This Gallup poll seeks the opinions of Canadians, on both political and social issues. The questions ask opinions about political leaders and the upcoming Federal election. There are also questions regarding compulsory military service, nuclear testing and what people fear. The respondents were also asked questions so that they could be grouped according to geographical variables. Topics of interest include: the type of activities recently participated in; confidence levels of Canadian institutions; compulsory military service; conditions that warrant an election; being eligible to vote; what people fear; gaining a majority government; India's nuclear testing; interest in the Federal election; likelihood of voting; how long the respondent could live comfortably without an income; who the most sincere political leader is; whether or not a respondents name is on the voter's list; participation in sports; the political leader with the best campaign; preferred area of living; satisfaction levels; and summer holiday plans. Basic demographic variables are also included.
