NRS-4068 | Minutes of meetings of the Sydney Teachers' College Consultative Committee

This Committee was set up to discuss matters on teacher training, courses and staffing. Matters dealt with included the appointment and grading of lecture staff; staffing needs for particular courses, and the various colleges (Armidale, Sydney, Balmain and Wagga); the number of students to be admitted to particular courses; course outlines for both teachers' college and university students; changes to courses; and special admissions. The meetings of the Committee were chaired by a senior officer of the Education Department - either the Superintendent of Primary Education or the Superintendent of Secondary Education. The Committee was abolished by direction of the Public Service Board on 20 September 1947.
