This dataset contains supplementary data and analysis files supporting the manuscript “Ecological sorting of ancient RuBisCO lineages structures Earth’s microbial carbon-fixation potential.” The files include curated genome metadata, habitat annotations, functional profiles, RbcL sequences and alignments, phylogenetic trees, residue-level metrics, predicted RbcL structural models, COM-derived structural descriptors, ancestral-state reconstruction analyses of RbcL-associated metabolic traits, phylogenetic signal analyses, PGLS model outputs, and bacterial–eukaryotic Form I reference analyses. The updated version additionally includes Datasets S7, containing the trait matrix, rooted RbcL tree, ancestral-state likelihood estimates, key-node summaries, and sensitivity analyses underlying the ancestral-state reconstructions.
