Effects of dietary supplementation of L-carnosine on growth, intestinal flora, and serum metabolome of fattening lambs

The supplementation of L-carnosine in diets has been shown to enhance animal performance and improve meat quality. However, the mechanism underlying the effect of L-carnosine on the physiological functions of animals has not been fully clarified. The present study aimed to investigate the effects of L-carnosine on the intestinal microbial diversity of fattening sheep in order to reveal the effect of dietary carnosine supplementation on the intestinal microbiota of sheep.
