In this study we tested the ability to identify early perturbations in the organ (liver and kidney) metabolism due to acetaminopen exposure at two early time points (5 and 10 h) using RNA-sequencing. Overall design: We treated Sprague Dawley rats with a single dose of acetaminophen (2 g/kg) with corresponding controls given 6 ml/kg of 50% polyethylene glycol as vehicle (n =8 each for control and treatment). Liver and kidney samples for RNA-sequencing were collected 5 and 10 h post acetaminophen/vehicle treatment. Total 32 rats were used with 8 replicates for each condition and time point.
