资源简介:
This digital archive comprises images, site records, text and spreadsheet data from archaeological excavations undertaken by AC Archaeology, between October 2020 and April 2021, on land at Combe Cross, Filham, Ivybridge. The excavations established that the majority of the features on the site were Romano-British in date, with a small component of prehistoric use largely testified by a small number of finds. The Romano-British use of the site was dominated by a rectilinear enclosure and attached triple-ditched enclosure. Within these were located clusters of pits, ovens and gullies, along with postholes, although there was only evidence for the full plan of one small potential structure. The finds indicate that enclosures, dating to after the middle of the 2nd century AD were domestic in character, representing settlement and activities relating to small scale rural industry, including metalworking and crop drying.
