Smelt Catches in Lake Oulujärvi 1974-2017

Annual data on smelt (Osmerus eperlanus) catches from Lake Oulujärvi have been collected as a part of a routine monitoring program for the fisheries compensation measures. The provided catch records are based on logbook data from local bookkeeping fishermen. In addition, a virtual population analysis has been performed to provide annual estimates for harvestable smelt biomass and fishing mortality (according to Härkönen et al. 2023, https://jukuri.luke.fi/handle/10024/553371).
