This directory contains the raw datasets and R scripts used to generate all figures and tables in Lesven etal. (2026), published in Quaternary Science Reviews. The study compares pollen- and chironomid-basedHolocene temperature inferences across five lacustrine sites in eastern Canada, and examines the influenceof fire disturbance on proxy discrepancies.The five study sites are Blow Hole, Billy, and Petit Anne (this study), Mista (Feussom-Tcheumeleu et al.,2023), and Aurélie (Bajolle et al., 2018). The objective is to compare pollen- and chironomid-based summertemperature reconstructions in the boreal forests of eastern Canada, to identify biases related to each proxygroup and each inference method (Modern Analogue Technique, MAT, and frequency-corrected WeightedAveraging Partial Least Squares, fxTWA-PLS), and to assess the potential role of Holocene fire regimes indriving discrepancies between proxies.
