资源简介:
Background: This study aimed to identify and address sociocultural, ethical, and behavioral barriers related to COVID-19 testing and vaccination to enable Asian Americans from Chinese, Hmong, and Vietnamese American communities to make well-informed decisions about getting tested for COVID-19.
Materials/Methods: The INdividual and Family-Oriented Responsive Messaging EDucation (INFORMED) intervention consisted of a 12-week automated SMS text messaging intervention that delivered 12 weekly messages plus as needed additional messages responsive to updated testing and vaccination guidelines, and lay health workers' (LHW) direct educational outreach via video conferencing to participants. A two-arm randomized controlled trial compared INFORMED delivered by LHW educational outreach plus automated text messaging to a text message only condition.
Outcome/Impact: This study leveraged community partnerships and used multiple approaches to explore factors affecting COVID-19 testing uptake and how vaccination acceptance is associated with testing behaviors for Chinese, Hmong, and Vietnamese Americans.
