Chromosome Mycobacterium avium sequencing. Mycobacterium avium subsp. hominissuis TH135

Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) infection causes mainly two types of disease: disseminated disease in immmunocompromised hosts such as AIDS patients; and pulmonary disease in persons without systemic immunosuppression. To explore bacterial factors that affect different forms of MAC disease, we determine complete genome sequence of M. avium strain TH135 isolated from HIV-negative patient with pulmonary MAC disease, and compare with the genome of M. avium strain 104 derived from an AIDS patient with MAC infection
