Dataset of Istanbul Smart City Apps: User Feedback from Google Play

This dataset contains user reviews of smart city mobile applications used in Istanbul, collected from the Google Play Store between 2023 and 2025. It combines user feedback on widely adopted applications such as Istanbulkart (digital transportation card app) and other related smart city services. The dataset includes over 10,000 anonymized reviews with associated metadata such as: Review ID (unique identifier) User Name (as provided on Google Play) Review Content (textual feedback in Turkish) Score (1–5 rating) Thumbs Up Count (helpfulness votes) App Version and Review Version Timestamp of review submission Application Name The reviews reflect real-world user experiences regarding usability, system integration, payment processes, authentication, interface quality, and overall satisfaction with Istanbul’s smart city applications. This dataset can be used for: Natural Language Processing (NLP) research (topic modeling, sentiment analysis, opinion mining) Smart city service evaluation and user experience (UX) studies Machine learning experiments on multilingual short-text analysis Policy and decision-making support for public transportation and digital city services Data were collected exclusively from publicly available sources on Google Play Store. No private or personally sensitive information is included beyond what users publicly shared in their reviews.
