资源简介:
ABSTRACT: This ArcView shape file (of points) indicates the lakes surveyed and number of yellow-billed and Pacific loons detected during aerial surveys between the Colville and Meade rivers on Alaska's North Slope. Surveys were conducted by USGS scientist S. Earnst and J. Helmericks (Golden Plover Air, Inc) from June to August 1998-2000. Presence and absence are known with some certainty because the shoreline of the entire lake was circled until the observer felt that all loons had been observed and identified correctly. In the dataset, one point denotes each surveyed lake, with that location indicated near the center of the lake, not in the precise location where a loon was observed. A point is not indicated for lakes not surveyed. Attributes of points include number of yellow-billed and Pacific loons observed on that lake.
