资源简介:
In 1884 teachers and officers of the Department initiated a fund to commemorate the memory of Inspector John Saunders Jones. It was decided by the Trust that two medals would be awarded annually, to "the best" boy and girl pupil teachers, as indicated by the Training College entrance exam. In 1911, when pupil teachers were abolished, four medals were awarded instead of two. Two medals were awarded to non-matriculated students (male and female), that is, those entering their training; and two were awarded to matriculated students, that is, those completing their training. In 1925 the award was changed again - the Jones Memorial Medal was to be awarded to two non-graduate students (male and female), and the Jones Memorial Medal and Walter Beavis Prize was awarded to one graduate student (male or female). This volume contains the minutes of the meetings of the Trust; and the names of the trustees. The Trust consisted of three members: the Under Secretary of the Education Department, the Principal of Sydney Teachers' College and a teacher. (11/10535). 1 vol.
