Dental caries is known as one of the most common diseases in all human beings. The incidence of caries is also extremely high. Rampant caries is the most serious of the many types of rickets. It is characterized by rapid development of the disease, involving many teeth and difficulty in curing. Microbial is an important factor of dental caries. However, rampant caries is rarely reported and its exact etiology and pathogenesis remain elusive. The microbiological causes of rampant caries due to different etiologies are worth investigating.
