FIELD: paper production; cellulose production. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of shaped tray or tray from fibrous material. Method involves the following steps: (i) obtaining fibrous cellulose， in which the fibres consist of at least 85 wt.??% softwood fibres having a mean fibre length of at least 2.0 mm and not more than 15 wt.??% of paper rejects having fibre length of 0.05–1.0 mm， (ii) converting cellulose to a foamed suspension， (iii) feeding a foamed suspension from the pressure box onto a forming screen of the cardboard machine for forming a fibrous web， (iv) drying the web to produce a dried web having compressibility in a thickness direction of at least 20??%， and (v) inserting the web as a layer into a cardboard which is converted into a tray or plate by thermo pressing or deep drawing.
