Exploring the Interplay Between the Core Microbiota, Physicochemical Factors, Agrobiochemical Cycles in the Soil of the Historic Tokaj Mad Wine Region

Tokaj is one of the oldest wine regions in the world, that is famous for its luscious botrytised wines. Microbial activities have indisputable influence on the wine terroir. Vineyard soil microbiota present regionally defined hallmarks determined by geology, climatic factors, physicochemical properties of the vineyard soil, such as grape variety. But the degree to which soil microbial patterns associate with must flavonoid content is still unclear. In this study a hungarian survey of Tokaj-Hegyalja vineyards was conducted. Culture independent shot-gun metabarcoding was applied to decipher the microbial-vitivinicultural terroir of the Mad wine region.
