This dataset is used for the paper "Thermally direct mesoscale circulations caused by land surface roughness anomalies". It consists of cloud resolving simulations over an idealized tropical land surface, where a land surface roughness heterogeneity is prescribed for different initial soil moisture conditions. Horizontal resolution: 250 m. Length of the simulations: 500 days. Roughness heterogeneities: rough\_1\_5, rough\_1\_10, rough\_1\_100, and rough\_1\_1000. rough\_1\_5 refers to the simulations where roughness lengths are 0.0387 m and 5*0.0387 m, respectively.
