Extreme Heat Data Pathfinder (Heat-Pathfinder)

The Heat Data Pathfinder (Heat-Pathfinder) is one of several Data Pathfinders NASA designed to help guide users through the process of selecting and using application-specific datasets from NASA’s Earth Science data collections. It provides access to reliable, global climate data records for use in assessing environmental change. Long-term data records from monitoring heat waves are used to differentiate abnormalities from normal climate conditions. The records contain robust, sustainable, and scientifically sound data of temperature, humidity, and other environmental metrics that have been collected over decades and includes a joint NOAA/NASA data set of sea surface temperatures for studying the relationship between abnormal heat events and sea surface temperatures.
