Ḳiṣṣa-i-Tamîm Anṣârî (قصّۀ تميم انصارى).

The story of Ḥaḍrat Tamîm Anṣârî, who lived under the Khalîf ‘Umar, beginning:

در خبرست از سرور كائنات فرموده اند كه بعد از خود عجائبهاى بسيار پیدا خواهد شد اوّل از حضرت تميم انصارى بود كه در وقت خلافت حضرت عمر روزى نماز گذارده نشسته بودند الخ

In the following copy it is ascribed to ‘Alî Muḥammad. Copied for Mr. Richard Johnson, by Muḥammad Rafi’.

[ed note: Hazrat Tamim bin Ya‘ar Ansari (حضرت تَمیم بن یَعَار انصاریؓ) belonged to the branch of Banu Jadara bin ‘Auf bin Al-Harith of the Ansar tribe of the Khazraj. He participated alongside the Prophet in the battles of Badr and Uhud. A son by the name of Rib‘i and a daughter by the name of Jamila were among his children. His mother belonged to the tribe of Banu Amr. Ibn Sa'd, Muhammad ibn Mani' al-Hashimi al-Basri, Al-Ṭabaqāt al-Kubra, 1st edition, ed. Muhammad Abd al-Qadir Ata (Beirut: Dar al-Kutub al-'Ilmiyyah, 1990), 3: 407. In India, aspects of the story of Tamim Ansari appear to have been conflated with Hazrat Tamim ibn Zayd Ansari (تميم بن زيد الأنصاري‎‎) whose tomb is found at Kovalam, Tamil Nadu.
