资源简介:
Ectomycorrhizal fungi (ECM) are the mycorrhizal fungi which get their nutrients from plants in exchange of water and minerals without penetrating the host plant cell walls. The ancestral ECM were saprotrophs which obtain their nutrients from dead organic matter. A study by Kohler et al (2015) has shown contractions in the protein families like Plant Cell Wall Degrading enzymes (Enzymes mainly involved in the degradation and digestion of dead plants) and expansions in mycorrhiza specific proteins like secreted effector proteins in many ECM lineages. This study used a moderate level of taxon sampling but very few species per each ECM lineage was selected, which leads to the following questions: (a) If these changes in the genome of ECM are due to the transition to ECM trophic mode from saprotrophs or it is a general evolutionary change in ECM lineages. (b) If there is also an expansion in some other protein families in different ECM lineages. Almost 20 species from Inocybaceae family of one of the ectomycorrhizal mushrooms lineages have been carefully selected. Whole genome sequences from these mushrooms have been assembled and are annotated in order to answer the questions of interest.
